Battle of the books is in full swing at TJH.  Students are voting for their favorite books!  Last week we had over 1,000 votes.  We are now down to the Final Four.

TJH students are chilling, reading and enjoying our new library furniture.

Come and purchase some awesome new titles from the TJH library’s spring book fair.  The book fair is being sponsored by Katy Budget Books.  Preview day is Wednesday, March 8th.  Purchase days are March 9th and 10th.  The book fair will be held during school hours in the LGI.  All students will come to the book fair with their ELA class.

Mrs. Hannam’s 8th grade ELA class was fortunate to Skype with author Ellen Booraem for World Read Aloud Day on February 16th.  Ms. Booraem read a portion of her latest novel, Texting the Underworld, and answered questions the students had about her work and being an author.  The students at TJH enjoyed this wonderful opportunity!

TJH celebrated our Read it Forward drop day where the library staff dropped 100 copies of books by PJ Hoover for students to find.  Students that participate in this reading incentive program should read the book that they find and pass it on to a friend to read.  All students that read one of PJ Hoover’s books will be invited to her author visit on May 16th.

6th grade ELA classes have been busy unleashing their creativity and creating poems from book spines.  Check out some of their awesome work below!

The TJH Library will be hosting its fall Scholastic Book Fair in the LGI from November 14-18.  The book fair will be open from 7:30 am – 2:45 pm on November 14-17 and from 7:30 am – 11: 00 am on November 18th.  Students will come with their ELA classes to preview the fair.  Students may purchase books anytime during fair hours.  Parents are welcome to come purchase books, also.
